Family Link runs in the browser, so there's nothing for families to install. But a parent who checks the portal every day shouldn't have to dig through email for it. Once they've opened their portal, they can pin it to their home screen and it opens with one tap, just like an app.
Share this page (or these steps) with your families.
First, open your portal
- Find any Family Link email from your center and tap the button inside. (New device? Tap Continue on the welcome screen.)
- You'll land on your portal — today's activities, photos, and more.
Pin the portal page itself, not the email. The email's button is a one-time secure link; the portal page is your permanent home.
On iPhone or iPad (Safari)
- With your portal open in Safari, tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Name it (for example, your center's name) and tap Add.
On Android (Chrome)
- With your portal open in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
- Tap Add to Home screen (on some phones it says Install app).
- Tap Add to confirm.
Good to know
- The pinned icon keeps working — your portal stays signed in on that device for weeks at a time through a secure session, with nothing to remember.
- If the portal ever asks for access again (it happens after a long time away or a new device), just tap Send me a new link, open the email, and you're back in. No password, no account recovery.
- Access is unique to each guardian, and your center can grant or revoke it at any time.
