Moments & the free photo archive

Share the day's photos privately, and let families save every one — free.

Capture the day and share it privately with families, right in their portal.

Post a Moment

  1. From Moments (or a classroom view), tap Add a Moment and choose a photo. You can also pick Photo while logging an activity — the children you're logging are tagged automatically.
  2. Under "Who's in this moment?" select the child or children it's for, add an optional caption, and tap Share Moment.
  3. Families see it in their portal as soon as you share it.

Group photos are stored once and shown to each tagged child's family, so it stays efficient.

A free photo archive

Families can browse and save every photo you've shared with them — for free. (Many apps paywall older photos; Seedling doesn't.) Parents find it under Account → Photos.

Photos are saved at up to 1600 pixels on the longest side — sharp on any screen, and fine for a 4×6 print. That's the version families download, rather than the original file straight off your phone's camera.

The gallery shows a family's 500 most recent photos. Past that the portal says so, and families can ask you for older ones — they're still kept, they're just not all on the page at once.

Photos are kept for two years, then removed automatically. It's worth telling families to save the ones they want to keep — they can download any photo straight from the portal, and the share link lets grandparents do the same.

Want grandparents to see them too? See Share with family.
