Paper sign-in sheets fail exactly when you need them: at licensing visits and at pickup disputes. Seedling replaces them with a kiosk that runs in the browser on any tablet, so there is nothing to install and no hardware to buy. Guardians check in with their PIN, approved pickups get their own PINs, and centers that prefer it can print a QR poster for self-serve check-in from a parent’s own phone.
Every check-in feeds the rest of the system: classroom ratios update live, the dashboard shows who has not arrived, and every attendance change is kept in an audit log with who changed what and when, which is exactly what an inspector wants to see.
No. The kiosk runs in the browser on the center’s tablet, and the optional QR self-serve flow opens right in the parent’s phone browser. There is no app store step for anyone.
Each approved pickup person gets their own PIN, managed by the family from their secure portal and visible to your staff. At pickup, the kiosk verifies the PIN, so the audit trail shows exactly who collected each child.
Attendance records include times, who dropped off and picked up, and a tamper-evident audit log of any corrections. Reports export to CSV for inspections.
Check-in is part of Seedling’s single plan: a flat $40 a month for the whole center, including billing, agreements, messaging, and records. There is no separate kiosk fee.
