Moving children between rooms

Move a child to another room permanently, just for today, or on a future date — with a full history.

Children don't always stay in one room. Seedling lets you move a child to another classroom — for good, just for the day, or starting on a future date — and keeps a record of every move.

Three kinds of move

  • Permanent — changes the child's home room now. Use it for a real classroom change.
  • Temporary (today) — the child spends today in another room (a combined room at the end of the day, a visit). Their home room doesn't change and they're back in it tomorrow.
  • Scheduled — pick a future date (for example, an age-up). The move applies automatically on that day; until then the child stays in their current room.

How to move a child

  1. Open a classroom in Classroom Mode and select one or more children.
  2. Tap Move Room, choose the destination room, and pick the move type.
  3. Confirm. You'll get a heads-up if the destination room would go over its capacity — you can still move if you need to.

Ratios follow the child

A temporary move updates your live staff-to-child ratios: a child who's temporarily in another room counts toward that room's numbers for the day, then reverts automatically. So your ratios always reflect where children actually are.

Room history

Every move is logged. Open a child's profile and look at the Profile tab for their Room history — permanent, temporary, and scheduled moves, newest first.
